Re-vamped!

As the year has gone by and my blog has gone dry (yes, that incredibly cheesy rhyme was intentional), I have continued to leave The Talking Muffin bookmarked on my Safari toolbar.  I don't really know why... especially considering the blog's coveted 5th position in the bookmark row, putting it ahead of such regularly frequented sites as Hawkmail and YouTube.  Maybe it was a subconscious hope that someday I could wrench myself from the pages of Facebook and back to my dusty old blog.  An apparently fruitful hope, considering my sudden reappearance today.

While I don't anticipate myself being incredibly diligent with my blogging, I will be trying to make it here a little more often.  For now, I'm not going to try to write down everything that has happened since May of 2008, but maybe I'll get there some day!

Macroeconomics

Well, I have decided to try out the Business major/minor as a second area of study for myself. I know that I need some experience as far as marketing in order to make it with my Graphic Design degree. We'll see how it goes... I was initially shy of the Business road because of all the mathematical classes required for the degree. If I were to do something else, I would be entirely done with math now. But I also realize that business can make me much more marketable in the world today. So although my original fall schedule included "media and society" in order to pursue the communications road, i dropped that and added "macroeconomics" so that i can test the waters with business. So I guess we'll see!

Two Weeks

Well, I have 2 weeks of absolute freedom on my hands. And it feels GOOD. I am able to plan whatever I want for this time, and for the rest of my time I can do absolutely nothing. It's great.

I went shopping in dubuque yesterday, and I picked up 3 new books to read, 2 of which will give me my chick lit fix (Meg Cabot, no less, whom I love) and one Vonnegut novel which I am looking forward to reading during my rest hours and at night this summer. Hopefully. I really enjoyed his "Slaughterhouse-five" and am excited to read more by the crazy brilliant man that is Kurt Vonnegut.

I also bought 3 movies on my shopping excursion yesterday. Three GREAT movies, actually... 27 Dresses, Juno, and P.S. I Love You. You can't go wrong with that triple threat.

It was a little cold today, surprisingly (or maybe not so much after the weather we've been having this year) but I still made the most of it. I went golfing with Lindsey and to a movie in Dubuque with my mom and 2 sisters. We saw Made of Honor, which I saw Wednesday night with Jenn, but it was good enough to see twice (much like 27 Dresses, which I saw twice in a week also).

I spent much of today reading one of the Cabot novels I had started last summer and set aside all year. I am seriously disappointed in how little reading I accomplished throughout the year. I should finish this one soon, and then I plan to finish Wicked before I start on my new books. I'm very eager to catch up on my reading.

So much to do in only two weeks!

One More Final...

I can't believe it, but there is only one more final for me and then my freshman year will officially be over. What a crazy thought. I'm going to do some hardcore laundry in a bit so I can pack up all my clothes tomorrow. And I'm going to need to pack up the rest of the other stuff in my room. I have to have things ready to go tomorrow!
